AGM Weekend 2019  Our annual weekend and AGM is to be held at Mercure Daventry Court Hotel, Sedgemoor Way, Daventry NN11 0SG during the weekend of 10-12th May 2018. A stylish modern hotel situated in lovely grounds the hotel offers full leisure facilities, spa, indoor pool etc.

It is located just six miles from junction 17 of the M1 two miles outside Daventry. Daventry in an interesting Saxon market town worthy of a visit. Also close by is Althorp House (the home of Earl Spencer).

  A very attractive weekend package is available with the hotel at a cost of £180 single room and £310 double Friday to Sunday including dinner Friday evening and the Gala Dinner on Saturday.

  The 37th Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 11th May 2019 commencing at 2.45pm with a speaker followed by the formal meeting at 3.30pm.

Open meeting

  An open meeting will follow immediately after the completion of the formal business of the AGM.

  Members are invited to submit any questions that may require prior research to Head Office by the 4th May 2019.

  The Executive Committee reserves the right to impose a time limit on items for discussion in the Open meeting.


Election of Executive Committee

  Nominations are invited for the Association Chairman and three Executive Committee members. All are three year appointments.

  The Executive Committee is appointed to oversee the running of the Association. There are usually two meetings per annum. The Executive has full responsibility for the charity and must ensure that the objectives of the charity are being met, including managing the finances.

  Any member can be nominated. All positions are honorary. By Charity Commission rules the Executive Committee members must be over the age of eighteen years.

  If you feel you could serve the Association in this capacity we would be please to hear from you. Please contact me by phone 01949 837070 or letter for a nomination form. Should you have any questions over seeking election I, or other executive members will be happy to answer your questions.

  Nominations need a proposer and the written consent of the nominee and must be submitted in writing to the Head Office by no later than mid-day on Monday 20th February 2017. Nomination forms can be obtained on request from Head Office. Nominations are required to be accompanied by a statement or personal profile not exceeding 250 words and a passport size photograph.

  Should a ballot be required member statements/profiles and ballot papers will be issued to members along with the April/ May journal

  There will be vacancies for the Chairman and three Executive Committee members, each for three years. The following members are due to retire and are eligible for re-election: Keith Jackson (Chairman), Mrs Margaret Rimmer. Andy Steel and Tony Ward.
